Giving back to the communities where we work and live is a deeply held value at Macy’s, Inc. We are proud that our contributions, leadership and volunteer efforts help create strong communities–providing a better environment for our stores to do business to do business and for our employees and customers to live and work.
Collectively, contributions in 2012 from the company and the Macy’s Foundation – as well as employee contributions through workplace giving campaigns and customer contributions through our signature giving programs – totaled more than $70 million. Our associates gave more than 125,000 hours of their personal time for community service.
Keyword Auctions for Charity Program
We are happy to announce the future auction of keywords on the Feebee system such as "hotel", "car" or "clothes". The business owning the keyword will be shown at the top of every search worldwide when a shopper enters that search word. These valuable keywords are assets that once owned can be sold or leased. We will be offering these keywords through auctions to businesses on Feebee and 80% of the proceeds will go to charities sponsored by celebrities or businesses on the SmileHighway.
